Post 3 Pressing Onward

During October and November we have done a lot of traveling inspecting the housing units for the missionaries.

In October Sister Langkilde and I went to the Monticello Temple driving along the Western side of the Colorado Rockies.
We left Farmington, New Mexico and drove through Mancos, Dolores, and Dove Creek Colorado before reaching Monticello, Utah. On our way back we drove up Hwy 145 North of Dolores looking at the country side then came back and split a prime rib at Millwood Junction Restaurant in Mancos.

In November we went with Elder and Sister Jones along the same route to Monticello, Utah and looked at potential housing for newly assigned Elders. We approved the elders to stay with a Stake President Counselor and his wife while their two sons are serving for two years on their mission.

After leaving Monticello we went West bound and visited the spectacular area of the Natural Brides National Monument. I had a bruised heal from running and was on crutches for two days. The bridges are named "Kachina," "Owachomo" and "Sipapu,"  in honor of the Native Americans that made this area their home.

We then came back to Farmington seeing several deer along the way.

On Thanksgiving Day we went to a Zone Conference in Saint Michaels near Window Rock, AZ. We drove with Elder and Sister Jones and it had snowed a little. The roads were icy and at one point we did a 360. Fortunately we were only going about thirty mph so no harm was done.

After meetings we traveled back by going through Zuni, New Mexico.

In  Ramah,  we check out a housing unit owned by Bishop Titjen that the Elders are living at.

It has reached 11 degrees here, the coldest so far. We have an electric heater plus our build it propane gas furnace. We had one cold night thinking we were out of propane, when it was only knowing how to turn one tank on and the other off. Its taking a little time getting use to fifth-wheel living.
