Senior Couples don't live for Saturdays only.
Saturdays are a fun break from the regular office work, however, we are fortunate to serve as proselyting missionaries in the Dulce area too. On Wednesdays and Sundays we drive 180 miles round trip to the heart of
the Jicarilla Indian Reservation in a town called Dulce, NM. The population is about 2,500. There is a branch building and a small missionary house there.
We have had some wonderful experiences while serving here. We help the Branch President with the Branch
business plus work with the less active and do proselyting work.
We had our first convert baptism on October 30, 2011. A ten year old adopted young man. His adopted father is the Elders quorum president. It was one of the few occasions where the father was able to baptized his son.
I recently sent out 1054 proselyting mailers to all the PO Boxes in Dulce. In a follow up we have knocked on a few doors and asked if they had received it, then based on their response we attempt to tell them more or give them a DVD titled "People of Destiny". One day I approached 20 people in the Post Office parking lot as they were coming out after getting their mail. Only about half remember getting the mailer. I was able to give several DVD's out. All of the information has three ways to contact us, email, PO Box, and telephone. We hope our efforts will be successful so we can invite them to receive the "restored gospel."
